Kaitlyn Thompson, MSN, AGACNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Kaitlyn Thompson, MSN, AGACNP-BC, serves as a Nurse Practitioner at Central Georgia Cancer Care. In this role, she provides comprehensive hematology and oncology care across CGCC’s Macon and Warner Robins clinics, where she focuses on assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, symptom management, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized patient care.

Originally from Middle Georgia, Kaitlyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Mercer University, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wesleyan College, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Middle Georgia State University. She is board-certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Kaitlyn brings a broad range of clinical experience to her role at CGCC. She has worked in oncology, hematology, critical care, and advanced pulmonary medicine. Before joining CGCC, she practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in critical care and the Advanced Lung Clinic at Atrium Health Navicent, caring for patients with complex pulmonary conditions and critical illnesses. She also worked extensively as an ICU and emergency nurse at Atrium Health Navicent, Coliseum Medical Center, and Houston Healthcare.

“I love working in oncology because it allows me to build meaningful connections with patients and walk alongside them during some of their most vulnerable moments,” says Kaitlyn. “Their strength and resilience inspire me every day, and it’s a privilege to care for them with both compassion and purpose.”

Outside of work, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with family and friends and is passionate about serving her community.
